Managing Principal Tom Gallanis a 20 year experienced real estate veteran. As an Asset Manager and Receiver for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) his position placed him in the forefront of the recovery from the greatest financial crises since the Great Depression. As part of the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships, Tom provided strategic financial expertise in failed bank closing functions to drive Merger & Acquisition analysis to upstream acquiring institutions, including ranking the asset portfolio and identifying assets for securitization , sale and stratification. Acting as Asset Marketing Manager for the FDIC Asset Marketing group Tom led a cross-disciplinary team working to oversee verification of $2.0 billion (US) in loan note sales. In addition, Tom coordinated owned real estate assets from failed banks and interacted with FDIC teams leads to develop and manage investment strategy to minimize losses and maximize return to the FDIC fund. Tom oversaw Bank Receiverships as Asset Manager in excess of $9.5 Billion (US) of failed banks assets.
Prior to his executive appointment to the FDIC in 2009, Mr. Gallanis was President of Security National Lending Group, Inc. a California Finance Lender that specialized in private lending and loan servicing. In 1998, Tom launched GIS a Real Estate and Insurance brokerage in San Diego, California.
Tom received a B.S. in Financial Management in 1983 from California State University, Long Beach. He holds a certificate as a Contract Oversight Manager from The George Washington University Law School and is Six Sigma Green Belt Certified from the FDIC Corporate University. Mike has over nineteen years of experience analyzing, underwriting and managing portfolios of commercial and residential real estate assets, including joint ventures construction loans and mezzanine debt. Types of real estate analyzed, underwritten and managed includes raw land, residential subdivisions and condominiums, master-planned communities, retail shopping centers, commercial office buildings and industrial office parks.
As an innovative Investment Manager: Turned around a $70 million non-performing real estate private equity branch of a Fortune 100 company and returned it to profitability within 12 months. His skills as a Financial Analyst include creating complex financial models for analyzing commercial and residential real estate assets in Argus and EXCEL.
Mr. Monge has 15 years of experience writing and presenting over 225 investment proposals and business plans for new investments, modifications and workouts to internal credit committees and outside institutional investors
